Amazon Q Developer supports IDE code completion, chat and code generation, plus questions in the AWS console. The former Q CLI is now Kiro CLI. AWS ends support for Q Developer IDE plugins on April 30, 2027 and directs migration to Kiro. This is not an announcement that the entire Q Developer service will close on that date.

Limits
The Build page lists 1,000 chat interactions/month; the pricing page only says Pro includes limited usage. The current quota page inconsistently labels agentic requests in code lines. A clear current chat or inference-call allowance is therefore not confirmed. Java allowances are pooled at the AWS payer account; only submitted code lines that return suggested upgrade code count, excluding comments and blank lines. .NET transformation has separate regional quotas. Pro admin features require IAM Identity Center and are not included with personal Builder ID subscriptions. Free offers a data-collection opt-out; Pro is automatically opted out.

How we compare
We compare free access, paid entry, plan limits, features and the listed official sources. Unsourced figures stay marked as not published.
Only confirmed entries appear in the catalog. Prices, plans and limits come from listed official vendor pages. Missing figures stay marked as not published. Search results are ordered by Task match by default; category and task lists are alphabetical. Both can be switched to Free access first; neither is a quality ranking. The vendor page always wins.
