Fully usable in Germany and the EU. DeepL SE is a German company based in Cologne; the pricing page has a country selector and for Germany all prices are shown in euros including VAT ('VAT included. No additional delivery or other costs apply.'). The paid translator plans state 'Free for 30 days. Cancel anytime.', DeepL Voice offers 14 days. Privacy policy, section 3 (free version): the content you upload and its translations are processed for a limited period to train and improve DeepL's neural networks and algorithms, corrections included. The terms of use also say the free versions of DeepL Translator and DeepL Write may not be used to translate or improve texts containing personal data of any kind. Section 4 (Pro services): texts and documents submitted through DeepL Translator Pro, DeepL API Pro and DeepL Write Pro are not stored permanently, are kept only temporarily as needed to produce and deliver the translation, are deleted after the contracted service has been performed, and are not used to improve the quality of the services. For processing personal data the terms provide for a data processing agreement (section 8.1.4 of the DeepL Pro terms). The pricing page lists 'no use of your data for model training' as a feature of every paid plan, not of the free version.
